A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the exact same domain. For instance, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from acquaintances or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

In case you host a domain on our cloud platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few features, but it is unbelievably user-friendly, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes just one mouse click. All the email addresses that you have set up will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll simply have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and takes yet another mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without difficulty if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll find a mini icon conveniently located directly next to each one of them. With just a click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate this feature using the menu that will pop up. If any of the requirements for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will let you know, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
